The dictionary defines a challenge as “a call to someone to participate in a competitive situation or fight to decide who is superior in terms of ability or strength”
It also goes on to define it as “a call to prove or justify something” and that is really what it is all about. Proving something to ourselves. It is important in life to constantly challenge ourselves, the alternative is to stagnate and not move forward.
We’ve all come out of winter where food often becomes the comfort and warming grace. Exercise is really difficult because it’s cold, it’s dark in the mornings and evenings and doing something in the middle of the day just ends up not being worth it because that would mean taking off layers and putting them all back on again. Surely crashing on your couch with Netflix on a continuous loop is the answer. Wake up in Spring and you have an added Bentley Belt which will serve you well to keep you afloat in the pool but will probably not do anything for your inner morale.
People often ask us why do you do a challenge?. For the majority of our living day, we prefer to play it safe and remain in our comfort zones. This is why a challenge is so important. We are all capable of achieving anything we set our mind to and what better way to achieve this than with a community of support, awesome prizes and then hands down the best challenge party.
“If It doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you” –
We all need to be challenged. Any type of challenge that stretches us, forces us to overcome adversity, tests our character and commitment and inspires us to say farewell to our comfort zone (winter). Without our perseverance being tested and without pushing ourselves we don’t have the opportunity to rise to it. The opposite of courage is fear. With a challenge, we are confronted with the reality that we either give in to fear or we take on the challenge. It inspires courage, develops our self-control and character. The opposite of this is procrastination and excuses.
You never know what your full potential is until you try. By rising to it you are providing yourself with proof that you have what it takes and you can do anything that you set your mind to. True freedom is not free, it requires guts, determination, sweat and effort. But freedom is the ultimate prize for rising to meet a challenge.
This is what you need to kick start yourself into summer, get back into routine and focus on yourself. Life is worth nothing if we don’t craft time for ourselves each day and if we don’t have balance. We all deserve it and we know you do, and at the end of the day what better place to do it than myUTOPIA with your tribe cheering you on.
I can’t wait to see your name on the 25 Day Challenge board and your feet firmly on the mat.
Much love and light always x SD
